5) Marcus Berg
Marcus Berg is a Swedish professional football player. He plays as a striker for Allsvenskan club IFK Göteborg. On 10 August 2007, he was signed by the club ‘FC Groningen’.
He scored 18 goals for Groningen. In the 2008–09 season, he scored 13 goals in 15 matches. He scored four goals in a match against ‘Roda JC’. On 17 July 2009, he signed a five-year contract with ‘Hamburger SV’. Berg showed his scoring ability in the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. His excellent performance earned him the player of the tournament award. He won 90 caps and scored 24 goals for the Sweden national team.
On 15 October 2019, he scored his 20th senior international goal for Sweden in a UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying game against Spain. In a 2020–21 UEFA Nations League game against Portugal, he served as Sweden’s team captain for the first time. He represented his country at UEFA Euro 2016, the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and UEFA Euro 2020. He has inspired many youngsters.
